Interesting that you titled this Face the Truth. I have myself been in denial until one day I received an email that led me into the world of abortion. I know now what is hidden. Thank God for information providers. I would like to know more about the video (Face the Truth) and any other information you may be able to send. I work in a church and I can display some things here in our benevolence department and in our lobby. Thanks for your time.
I enjoyed joining you on the Truth Tour this year in Oswego. I was only flipped the middle finger once and cursed twice, which is a big improvement from my experience last year with you in St. Charles. I'm writing to thank you for all you do to educate the public and also to share one incident that occurred while I was politely displaying my "Warning Graphic Pictures Ahead" sign on west Madison Street.
A middle-aged woman toting a toddler rushed up to me with an anxious and worried look on her face and barked, "How long is your group going to be here? I want you to leave. I'm a realtor and I'll be showing a house in this neighborhood soon. People from out of town will be driving here, and I do not want them to see these posters. What will they think? I want to sell this house."
I was so taken aback by her action that I had no appropriate response other than to tell her our schedule was 11:30 1:00. But with intervening time I have pondered. Did the Germans living near the death camps complain about lowered real estate value? Is it really only about "the economy stupid?" How did she know the prospective buyers were pro-abortion? Maybe a majority of American citizens do realize an unborn baby is a real human being, but so long as they are living out their middle class dreams they just don't care? It took a bloody Civil War to end slavery in America!
We can only with a clear conscience do what God calls us to do, and that we must do regardless of consequence, apparent obstacle, setback or defeat.
Join you next, year, God willing,
I cannot ever thank you enough for turning me on to the battle for the lives of innocent unborn babies way back at a Defend Life lecture you gave in 1989 at Loyola College in Baltimore. My guardian angel got me there and you and your guardian angel did the rest.
Please accept this letter as at least one vote to continue your 3-times a week Pro-Life Action News reports. As you know, I include your news reports on local Defend Life Voice mail messages (410-296-BORN), also three times a week. So I figure this letter counts as a proxy for dozens more "please continue" votes. God be with you,
Thank you for writing to me regarding my newsletter. Also thanks for the advice to have Our Lady of Guadalupe be the main story of our next newsletter, and for permission to print another chapter from CLOSED.
I received a copy of your book, CLOSED, a few months ago and enjoy it greatly. Whether I'm looking for ideas, background or inspiration your book has it all.
Since I'm a youth, I really appreciate your optimism and excitement for pro-life work. Of all pro-lifers you are probably the most persecuted but amazingly you are the most optimistic! I enjoy your book and newsletter because you get right to the heart of the matter.
Thank you for your enthusiasm, excitement and never-ending hard work against the culture of death. Your example helps me not just in fighting abortion, but in being a good Catholic. Sincerely,
Thank you again and again for the heroic work you are doing for the unborn. May Christ and His Mother guide and protect you always,Sincerely yours,
I wanted to write you personally to thank you for signing our Declaration on Truth and Life and for your positive comments with regard to the document. Our goal with this project is to build a firm foundation for uniting pro-lie groups on uncompromising principle.
The only way to fight this battle is to implement the penetrating power of truth in all of our speech, written words and actions and that, without exception. For Christ confirmed that "only the truth will set you free."
You, of course, are such a wonderful example of these principles for all of us fighting this awful evil. Thank you for your constant witness to the rest of us of great faith, hope and charity on behalf of the children.
And NO, you don't have to say that capital punishment is the same as abortion! We certainly don't!May God continue to bless all of your work, Joe. You are in our prayers. Sincerely in the Lord Who Is Life,
I've prayed for years for women who are considering an abortion, that God will give them the courage and strength not to go through with it. With eight children and twenty-one grandkids I have such a love for little children I shudder to think of a mutilated fetus. God bless and help you to continue your crusade.
I received this gift for my 93rd birthday. I'm sending it on to you to help you save more precious babies! May God bless you and your great work abundantly. I put a note up on our bulletin board asking the sisters to pray for your success in the NOW lawsuit! May God hear our prayers.Cordially,
Sr. Evelyn Marie has the tell-tale beautiful handwriting of a Catholic nun even at 93.
[Back to Top]Thank you for your letter. I pray always that your work be successful. Life is the supreme gift that God gave mankind and protecting it is the only thanksgiving man can offer to his creator. And those who are against life, in which group of mankind can we put them? They are against God who is the author of life! Terrible!
That makes me keep you in my prayers whenever I offer the sacrifice of Eucharist. Let us be vigilant God is on our part since we defend life.Yours sincerely,
God bless you and your family and staff thousands of times over for the courage, selflessness and perseverance you demonstrate in your commitment to save our precious babies! I will keep you all in prayers. Yours in Jesus & Mary,
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for your hard work and perseverance in a society that, for the most part, does not agree with the ideals you fight for. I, on the other hand, believe in what you are doing.
I am currently raising money for an organization similar to yours in my hometown. My family has also hosted several young women who became pregnant unexpectedly and needed temporary housing. Again, thank you for everything you do for our country by fighting to close down abortion clinics. You are a truly selfless organization with the best intentions of every young woman and unborn child at the heart of everything you do. God bless your cause. Sincerely,
God bless your dear life as you battle those so-called "NOW" creeps! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help. I am sincerely hoping and praying that you will win out. I'm going to write to my congressman, Henry Hyde, right now!! With love,
Please keep Pro-Life Action News going. I've been a regular caller now for two years and would greatly miss hearing from Joe throughout the week. Please do not cancel this much-needed service. Thank you for all your efforts,
As a faithful caller to the Action News hotline for over 24 years, I hope and pray you decide to continue. The messages are not only informative, but inspiring and spiritually enriching, and sometimes "the shot in the arm" we need in dark moments. I missed your messages last winter and was overjoyed in January to hear your voice again. Please God that your are able to continue this mode of "encouragement to the troops." You will always be "my hero" as the most dedicated defender of the little ones. And my admiration of your wonderful wife and partner, Ann, whose life is a most beautiful example of womanhood working hand in hand with God to promote the dignity of life and motherhood. How awesome lif can be when God is the center of all we do!! Most sincerely,
Greetings to you and Ann and I do hope that you are enjoying the best of health these days.
Keep up your splendid work for the pro-life cause. What an example and inspiration you have been to all of us through the years. God is certainly with you. I am amazed and shocked that so many Catholics still go out and vote that Democratic ticket with all of these abortionists running. Their party seems more important to them than their Catholic faith.
I have the sisters daily praying for your success in the NOW v. Scheidler case. We are praying that you will have a great victory here. I have asked the Poor Clares and the Missionaries of Charity. Gratefully,
Your recent letter was received by us just after we returned from the three hour veneration of our Lord's passion and cross on Good Friday. How good and merciful our Lord Jesus is. It was exactly 3:07 as I read it and it started to rain. The world weeps.
You have written many compelling letters, but Carolyn Kollegger's story, which is one of many, moved me to tears. This is not my story, but of a few women I know. My heart breaks for their anguish.
How can I tell you how much my husband and I appreciate your blessed works? Our Lord Jesus loves you both so much and we do too.
We continue to keep you, Fr. Pavone and all who courageously fight to protect the innocent unborn and their mothers in our daily prayers. God bless you mightily,
Action News welcomes your letters to the editor. We print as many as we can fit into each print edition of Action News. E-mail your letter or send to the address at the bottom of this page.
