This first installment covers the period from Joe's first involvement with the pro-life movement in 1973, through the founding and early years of the League, including Joe's first arrest and the original filing of the now-landmark NOW v. Scheidler case.

Despite High Court Victory, NOW v. Scheidler Lives On
On Feb. 26, 2003, the United States Supreme Court ruled 8-1 in favor of Joe Scheidler and the Pro-Life Action League in the landmark NOW v. Scheidler case, sending the case down to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals for reversal of the injunction and judgment for damages. But Fay Clayton and her friends on the Appellate Court are trying to sabotage the High Court's ruling.

On Dec. 18, a group of fifty Pro-Life Action League Christmas carolers visited four abortion mills in Chicago to bring Christmas hope to these places of despair. Two babies were saved from abortion during the caroling.

"Women deserve better than abortion" was a constant refrain at this year's March for Life. Hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers gathered on the National Mall to denounce the harm abortion does to women and their unborn babies and to witness to the value of life.
